Angeline & John C.
  Shannon

Welcome to the 2010 Shannon Family Reunion
website.
Thanks to all that helped put this reunion together.
It was a great success.  We will be updating the
site with many new pages.  Bear with me on this,
since this is a very busy time of the year for me.

The Shannon Saga
by Jim Johnston

The   Shannon  Montana   Saga  began   when   newlyweds     John
and  Angeline,  together  with  his  mother,  brothers and sisters, left
Chippewa  Falls,  Wisconsin  and  traveled   via train,  steamboat and
wagon  to  Helena,  MT.   After  8 years of working in the  Helena area
and  traveling  to various  parts of the state seeking a likely  place to
settle,  John  and  Angeline  loaded  up  and  crossed   the   Big  Belt
Mountains  and  settled  to  begin  their  lives  on  this r ranch.   Here
Shannon's  were  born,  educated,  married,   worked,  grew  old, and
died.   Like  all families  theirs  was a story  of   closeness and strife,
triumph ,  and  tragedy ,  but  through  it  all  it  is  the  story  of   the
Shannon/Hoyts,  a story made in an area  that  contained  the  tepee
rings,   trails,   piskin's,  and   rock   art   of   families   that  had   also
made  their   story  in   this wonderful place.

This ranch, and it's distinctive "footstool", is a symbol of who we    all
are  and   where  we  come  from.   Come  join  us  and  let   the
foothills  of  the   Little   Belts   here   again   the   stories  of   the
Shannons/Hoyts and their  various family  branches told and retold,
and new stories made to be shared with the feeling of,

"THIS IS ME, THIS IS WHO I AM AND WHERE I COME FROM".
